Employment Settlement Agreements Introduction
An Employment Settlement Agreement provides certainty and protection for both employer and employee when the relationship between them comes to an end and the parties require protection and certainty. This could be due to a redundancy situation, a disciplinary matter and/or dispute between employer and employee. It could also be used where the Company is being sold, and a director is being asked to step down by the incoming owners. The parties may, therefore, wish to record their agreement in a formal contract, known as an Employment Settlement Agreement.
