Welfare Benefits Review Service

Welfare Benefits Review Service

We offer a Welfare Benefits Application, Appeal and Review service here at Vincents for both our own clients and the clients of other Court of Protection appointed deputies.

Specialist Court of Protection Deputy Welfare Benefit Services

We offer ongoing, yearly, benefit reviews to assist in meeting the Deputyship Standards Guidance published in the Summer of 2015 by the Office of the Public Guardian. These are charged at a fixed fee and intended to be completed regularly to ensure that clients continue to receive benefits that are correct and relevant to their circumstances. The process can also include reviewing any change of circumstances that may increase or decrease Welfare Benefit income.

Welfare Benefit Calculations

We will work directly with the Client and/or their family to understand the existing financial picture and to offer welfare betterment. We also consider how benefits impact the overall family or home, producing calculations to advise on what the best course of action is for the whole family.

Welfare Benefit Applications

We can also help you start your welfare benefits application process.

We will prepare, complete, and submit any and all Welfare Benefits applications from start to finish, including – should you wish – attendance at any appointments.

Declined Welfare Benefits Applications

We can also act on applications where it is felt they have been incorrectly declined,  carrying out Mandatory Reconsiderations, Appeals and representing Clients in Appeal Hearings where needed.

Welfare Benefits Training

We also offer a range of welfare benefit specific training courses and training workshops to other Court of Protection professionals.  You will benefit from our vast knowledge and expertise and the training can be tailored to your particular needs.

Clear Advice Feels Better

After reviewing one of our Court of Protection clients welfare benefit payments we have secured a back dated payment of £22,000 from Aug 2021, monthly income from £0 – £1,502.  Together with a previously secured ESA payment of £16,901.30 our client has  received a total of £39.216.30 which he did not realise he was entitled to without the support of his Deputy Oliver Banks and his amazing team.

Commended for their expertise

I initially spoke to Mary in Garstang Office to enquire about setting up a Power of Attorney, Mary was polite and explained in detail what was required.

I next spoke to Lisa who gathered all of the personal information required to draw up the POA and this was followed up by a home visit from Mary for my part to be signed.  This was very much appreciated as a disabled, elderly person.

These two young ladies are to be commended for their expertise and the respect shown to me.
