Nicola Hayes
Nicola qualified as a Solicitor in 2002, after gaining experience in Family, Probate and Personal Injury Law. She then went on to practice Defendant Personal Injury, defending fraudulent and suspected fraudulent insurance claims.
In 2007 Nicola gained further qualifications to enable her to practice in Australia and moved to there later that year. She begin to work with Shine Lawyers, an international firm with 60 offices across Australia and New Zealand.
After having 2 children in Australia, Nicola decided to move back to the UK to be nearer friends and family. Shortly after returning to the UK she began volunteering for the Witness Service, supporting victims and witnesses at Preston and Blackpool Magistrates Courts. She also set up a Toddler Group, which today is a thriving hub for local mums and carers.
Nicola then began working for the Coroners Service as a Court Clerk, covering inquests across Lancashire. The role involves dealing with witnesses, assisting in the smooth running of the court and supporting and advising grieving families. Nicola finds this work extremely rewarding.
Nicola works as a Court of Protection Assistant at Vincents Garstang office. The role has enabled Nicola to return to private practice, working with some of the most vulnerable members of society, and their families.
