Biography

Mary has over 30 years of experience working in Family Law and specialises in High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth Divorce cases.

Over this period, Mary has gained unparalleled expertise: from working on behalf of Industry Leaders; Family Business owners; sports and TV personalities; to dealing with intricate lease agreements and land uses pertaining to agriculture, livestock and landowners. No two cases are the same and Mary adopts a bespoke approach to each of her clients in order to leverage the best results.

This leverage is afforded by Mary’s expansive experience with Magistrates Court, Family Court, Court of Appeal, Court of Protection. She also has vast experience in Pre-Nuptial and Post-Nuptial Agreements as well as Separation Agreements.

Navigating divorce can be an intricate affair, especially for those with a multitude of assets. Luckily, Mary excels working alongside clients who may have complex financials, such as owning properties abroad or high-value items including jewellery, super cars, racehorses, helicopters and small planes.

Additionally, Mary has a thorough comprehension of pensions and Section 37 injunction orders, where a spouse is either hiding or disposing of assets out of jurisdiction, transferring assets to family members, or buying expensive price tag items.

Mary has built a strong team to give her HNW divorce clients a whole picture solution, including in-house litigation, child care, tax planning and wills experts, as well as External QCs, Pension Actuary, and Forensic Accountants. Everything is managed to ensure your case proceeds as smoothly as possible.

With her vast experience in Family Law and Complex and High Net Worth divorce cases, Mary recognizes that her role during a divorce can also be one of a shoulder to lean on – a confidante. She is acutely aware of the toll a divorce can take on a person’s wellbeing, always checking in on her clients throughout the process.

She provides her clients with the pillar of strength and support that is often needed for those who are feeling frightened about embarking on a divorce.

Recognising that family issues during a divorce are unlikely to happen during 9-5, Mary is always available to her clients out of hours; furthermore, meetings rarely take place at the office, with Mary even travelling abroad to meet with clients.

Outside of work, Mary is a trustee for both the Bobby Ball Foundation, a charity that raises funds for many local good causes including the Blue Skies Charity at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
